Pups Day 7

7/17/2012

Pups are all gaining weight and doing well.  We started ENS aka Army Super Dog on day 3 and will continue thru day 16.  We have done ENS with the  A and B litter and have seen nothing but good results.   All 10 of Cati's pups to date have been bold, confident pups and the type of pup that the Army program professes to produce.   The article below will explain the exercises.

C Litter Day 3
Well, it looks like the winners in the name game are Cayenne for the female, Corleone and Cole for the boys with ticking and Caspar for the little guy with no ticking. (See Alexis and Beau from her previous litters) I'll put up some individual shots over the next few days. All are gaining weight in the same proportions as the A and B litter.

C Litter Arrival

C Litter arrived a few days early as we expected them on the 14th.   I noticed Cati's temperature drop to 97.8 on Tues Morning and it was on to Stage 1 labor a few hours later.  The pups arrived between 1:45 Am and 4:15 AM.

To be honest, we were hoping for a slightly larger litter as we had more than a few people interested.  Cati however is not a big producer.  She is the farthest thing from the classic "brood bitch" as her A litter (4 pups) and B litter (6 pups) prove.   What she does produce however are very high quality pups.  There is not one pup of her first 10 that I would not have in my house as a personal hunting companion.

The C litter gives us the opportunity by it's small size to retain the whole litter and closely monitor the success of the breeding.   We intend to document their development and training for the first year with video and blogs,  Your
